What it is
While driving, if you see something of interest on the road, you can mark the event with a hand gesture to easily save a short video directly to your phone.
How it works
There is a gesture sensor to the left of the screen on every Raven+. This sensor detects motion, particularly objects that are moving towards the Raven, like a hand.
Raven automatically records continuously on both cameras (configurable via global settings in the web app); most of the time, this footage is uninteresting. When you do see something of interest that you want to capture and share, move your hand towards Raven, and you will hear a beep indicating that it’s capturing the event.
Raven will go back 20 seconds in the video stream and capture the video for 30 seconds after the gesture. These 50 seconds of video will then be transferred to your phone.
Note: Your phone will need to be within the range of Raven’s Wi-Fi service for the video transfer to occur.
How to use it
How to enable Gesture Videos
- From the web app, select the settings tab.
- Scroll down to the ‘Gestures’ section and toggle on to enable.
How to use Gesture Videos
- Move your hand towards Raven, and once you hear a beep, this indicates that the event has been triggered, and a countdown on Raven’s screen will begin.
- Raven will create a short video from the 20 seconds of recordings leading up to the gesture, plus the next 30 seconds of video.
- Want to capture a longer event? Repeat the gesture, and Raven Connected will continue recording for an additional 20 seconds.
Note: For videos to automatically download to your phone, you will need to pair your phone with Raven’s Wi-Fi. If you have not done so, follow the instructions here.
