Why did my downloaded videos disappear from the Media tab when I upgraded the Mobile App to version 1.4.9? Follow
Symptoms:
Previously downloaded videos are missing from the Media tab in the Raven Mobile App.
Cause:
Android 10 introduced the concept of Scoped Storage, which means apps no longer have access to save files to the User's public directories. Until version 1.4.9, the Raven app was allowed to write to the public directories and used this approach to make downloaded videos available to other apps, like Google Photos or Gmail. With version 1.4.9, the Raven app is subject to Scoped Storage. We now store videos in the Android Media Store and will continue doing so.
Resolution:
The previously downloaded videos are still on your phone and can be accessed with most Photos apps, File Managers, and the system File Picker used for sharing files. This affects phones running Android 10 and later.
On phones running Android 7-9, the previous downloads are still visible and playable by the app.
